Our Curriculum Intent

At Greenbank, our curriculum is designed to recognise children’s prior learning, provide first-hand learning experiences, allow children to develop language and communication skills, and become reflective thinkers about their learning.

We aim to deliver a relevant, rich, and balanced curriculum through which children can experience wonder and curiosity, and develop their individual interests and experiences. Our curriculum is underpinned by the teaching of basic skills, knowledge, concepts and values, and enhanced through school trips, visitors and cross-curricular themed events, which bring learning to life, encourage a thirst for knowledge and promote independence and social skills.

We encourage positive attitudes to learning which reflect the values and skills needed for future success.  We want our children to experience a love of learning, and to leave Greenbank with the confidence and skills to make decisions, self-evaluate, make connections and become lifelong learners

Our school is open for children of Key Workers and vulnerable children Year 6, Reception and Year 1 from 7th July. For our 'Welcome Back' video from Mrs Wrigley, please go to our Parents section/ Returning to school after Lockdown to view.
