Nursery Rhymes

Our second Talk 4 Writing unit this half term was 'Nursery Rhymes'. We spoke about all the different rhymes we knew and enjoyed singing them with our friends. Whilst singing the rhymes we listened for any words that rhymed. We had fun creating rhyming strings and going on a rhyming hunt.

We created text maps of the rhymes Humpty Dumpty and Five Little Ducks which we used to help us recite the rhymes. We investigated how Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall, RE seemed to think he slipped on a banana skin! As part of our innovation, we decided to change the rhyme 'Five Little Ducks' to create our own rhyme.
