On Sunday 30th October it was Diwali, a Hindu and Sikh festival. In school we read and retold the story of Rama and the demon king. In the story, Rama rescues his wife Sita from the demon king, Ravana.

We spoke about how we celebrate different celebrations. We watched some videos of children celebrating Diwali. We then made some Diwali cards, rangoli patterns and some Indian sweets called burfi. Mrs Kour and her daughter came to visit, wearing traditional Indian clothing and told us about their traditions, including creating a shop. for the family to buy treats.

As Diwali is called the festival of light, we made some diva lamps using clay.
